Remineralization of tooth enamel (fluoridation)

Remineralization of tooth enamel (fluoridation) is the saturation of tooth enamel with mineral components, leading to the restoration of the structure.

The main structural elements of teeth are calcium and phosphorus. Fluorine, despite its ability to reduce the solubility of enamel, can hardly be considered a structural element of teeth, since its percentage in healthy enamel is on average 0.15%. However, fluoride is a factor affecting the formation of acid-resistant forms of apatite (the main substance of tooth enamel). That is why, remineralization of the teeth is carried out using compounds containing calcium and phosphorus. To increase the effectiveness, remterapy is combined with the use of fluoride-containing drugs. Most often, fluorides are prescribed after completion of a course of remineralizing therapy, to reduce the release of calcium from tooth enamel. Continue reading

Wisdom tooth. Delete or not delete?

Western dentists categorically insist: the wisdom tooth should be removed, as they say, in the bud as soon as it shows signs of existence. Why endure the torment of cutting, if you can once and for all get rid of this scourge ?! This opinion has developed among American dentists thanks to the research of their own anthropologists. Scientists say that in our time the “wisdom tooth” is a rudiment from which there is no use. The length of the jaws of modern man, compared with the jaws of the primitive, was reduced by 12 mm. These changes have led to the fact that eighth teeth are often not even laid in the project. And healthy and strong “eights” are a rare exception to the rule. The Western cult of thinness added fuel to the fire, when people, in order to achieve the effect of sunken cheeks, pull out not only all wisdom teeth, but also two healthy chewing teeth on each side. 5 reasons to cure baby teeth

Some parents believe that it is not necessary to treat milk teeth, because in their place they have to grow up permanent – healthy and strong. However, this approach is fundamentally wrong. It is necessary to take care of the condition of the oral cavity from a very young age, and the first visit to the dentist should take place immediately after the baby has the first teeth. You need to take care of them as carefully as you do for permanent ones, and maybe even more thoroughly – after all, in infancy, enamel is more vulnerable. Regular cleaning is very important, but sometimes it is not enough, and treatment is required. Do not hide from the problem, consult a doctor as soon as you notice that the enamel has begun to darken or the baby has complained of discomfort in the oral cavity. Continue reading

Professional oral hygiene

Among the preventive measures aimed at improving the body, professional oral hygiene “PHR” occupies an important place. Monitoring the condition of the teeth and timely removal of plaque can prevent tooth decay, stone, as well as the development of periodontitis and bleeding gums.

What is the danger of tartar and periodontitis?
In normal condition, the teeth are covered with a thin protective film. Plaque clings to it, containing many different microbes and microorganisms that create the soil for caries and other diseases. Saliva also contains minerals that form stones when combined with plaque. This is fraught with circulatory disorders, which can lead to gum disease, tooth decay and tooth loss. Continue reading
